About College Board Foundation
Our Story
We created College Board Foundation to harness the energy and creativity of people across College Board. We apply our capabilities in new ways to challenges intensified by the pandemic, and we partner with new allies to help students own their future—in areas beyond college.
Here's how we started:
College Board was created to open the doors of college to a much broader range of students. To meet that mission, we’ve become a strong nonprofit with deep expertise in assessment and advanced coursework, applying our research and measurement capabilities to guide millions of students to college.
The covid-19 pandemic forced us to reflect on the state of our country, our mission, and our capabilities. It intensified and drew attention to long-standing challenges, like unequal access to good jobs, strains on our democracy, and the digital divide.
It forced us to work in new ways—and showed us how our capabilities could help address these broader challenges.
